Know More about the Sleep Apnea- A Critical Sleeping Disorder

Although there are various problems or diseases related to sleeping disorders. But there are few which can make you really frustrated. Those who are suffering from any such disease may feel restless and weakness in the body as it will not get the sufficient amount of sleep which is required.

One of the most annoying sleeping disorders is sleep apnea. It is a disease in which the person may stop breathing during snooze. Such people wake up several times at night to take breath of air. This can happen hundreds of times a night. Snoring problems is the biggest indication to the same. The problem affects the way a person breathes at night while sleeping. During the disorder, the throat become narrow to the point where the person stops breathing completely or it becomes very shallow and generally last for few seconds.

This causes oxygen de-saturation that is lack of oxygen in the body. Due to this lack, the brain receives the messages and you wake up several times at night.

The problem is generally found in the overweight and middle-aged people. It can be severe if it is experienced at a younger age. Although it is much popular in males but there are females as well who have been found to be suffering from the same disarray. Not just this, there are children who are facing the apnea disorder.

There are mainly two types of apnea disorders. The first is obstructive apnea, in which the air is not able to get in. The air ways closes or the windpipe gets blocked. The other one is, central apnea, in this the brain fails to receive messages that the breathing is required.

The muscles of the diaphragm stops working which makes the person unable to sleep and he wakes up to take some air in. This situation is less common as compared to obstructive sleep apnea.

There are some signs or indications through which it can be judged that a person is suffering from the sleeping disorder. The most common symptoms in a person are chronic tiredness and fatigue.? Sometimes an individual is unaware of his waking at nights and snoring and may not be able to realize the problem and may get to know about the same by having the complaints of snoring and waking at night.

There are various causes that contribute to the problem. The major ones are:-

  • The problem of overweight/ obesity
  • Hereditary? problem
  • Excessive intake of alcohol or sedatives
  • Smoking
  • Age factor
  • Underdeveloped jaws
  • Abnormal upper ways
  • Menopause
  • Diabetes

The above mentioned are the most likely causes, due to which the apnea disorder occurs. Lots of fat in the neck area is also a cause for the same.

There are high chances to develop various other problems that can happen because of sleep apnea. The most common tribulations to which a person can become prone are:-

  • Fear of heart attack
  • Brain strokes
  • Diabetes
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Acid reflux diseases
  • Thyroid
  • Daytime sleeping problem
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches and migraines.
